In 1997, ACME released their first collection of fine writing tools. Being the creative team they are and always on the forefront of design, this allowed them freedom to work with globally recognized architects to artists; musicians to tattooists; and even with Apple Corps, Ltd. For a project with The Beatles and the Le Corbusier Foundation to develop modern, timeless designs for these instruments of expression alongside watches, cufflinks, card cases, and small leather goods.
Founded in 1985 by husband-and-wife team Adrian Olabuenaga and Lesley Bailey, ACME Studio launched with a limited-edition collection of jewelry designed by Peter Shire, a member of the world-renowned Memphis Group. This graduated to working with all fourteen Memphis Designers such as Andrea Branzi, Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass.
With the need for creatives to use their hands, minds and hearts beyond the technical computer devices, in 2013, ACME developed 7FP, the world.s thinnest seven function pen.
ACME receives accolades and nominations consistently and is proud of the two 2009 National Design Award nominations in Corporate Achievement by the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and in 2010, in two categories: Product Design and Corporate Achievement.
