Based on Pilot Custom 74, the larger No.10 size (Custom 742) and No.15 size nibs (Custom 743) were adopted to achieve a more stable writing feel. To match users’ needs, other types of nib have been gradually added to the three types available at the time of the pens’ launch. In 2004, the current 14 types (Custom 743) and 15 types (Custom 742) became the largest lineups in Pilot Custom Series.
